The Real Estate Services Department is recruiting for a part-time Project Management Secretary. This position will perform a variety of secretarial duties and project-related administrative tasks supporting the Project Management Team (RESD-PM). Examples of duties include releasing Requests for Bids through e-Pro; creating advertisements for new projects out to bid; assisting Project Managers with bid openings; processing and submitting Board items; scheduling and arranging management meetings; assisting Project Management staff with administrative tasks; and other duties as assigned.

The Real Estate Services Project Management Team (RESD-PM) runs projects ranging in size from ground up construction to minor facility improvements.


Schedule: This position will work 26 hours per week/52 hours per pay period. Hours must be completed Monday-Friday, however the hiring department will determine set days and hours through considering both the department's and the incumbent's needs.
Background Check: Prior to appointment, the incumbent must pass a background investigation, job-related physical exam, drug screening, and verification of employment history. Extra-Help Status: The position is a part-time extra-help, unclassified appointment. As such, appointments are intended to be of limited duration for the purpose of staffing special projects. The appointment can last up to one year with opportunity for renewal.

This position is in the Unclassified service and incumbents do not gain regular status.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment, including experience using intermediate functions with Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). The department is seeking a candidate with experience maintaining an office schedule, drafting documentation, and providing clerical and administrative assistance to management staff.

Successful candidates will perform duties in an efficient, organized, and timely manner exercising both tact and judgment.
