Qualifications

Required/Essential Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED and one-year general office/clerical experience. Training/education may be substituted for some of the years of experience. Requires knowledge and/or demonstrated ability needed to perform general office tasks. Specific knowledge/skills may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Proven ability to effectively and professionally communicate both verbally and in writing, including excellent spelling and grammar and Google Suite experience. Demonstrated skill in working independently and as a team member with minimal supervision. Experience working with diverse personnel and non-standard situations and skill at handling multiple tasks at one time. Proven ability to present professional demeanor and appearance and to be punctual and dependable.

About the Job

Job Duties:

(70%) General Receptionist and Clerical Duties
Greet and assist visitors, callers and employees; answer and direct incoming calls on multi-line phone; sort and distribute mail; receive record and distribute packages; update greeting board and presentation monitors; sell daily parking permits to visitors and guests; assist with shipments, forklift requests and other duties as assigned.

(25%) Special Projects
Assist with other administrative staff as needed. Duties may include Scanning, cleaning/organizing, special projects as assigned.

(5%) Building Safety/Security
Manage sign-in sheets for NRRI guests and conference room guest, monitor parking procedures.

Candidate must agree to abide by NRRI COVID-19 safety requirements when working in this facility.

Location: NRRI Duluth, MN

This is a temporary, part-time 12-25 hours per week position. Scheduled hours are during business hours of Monday-Friday 8-4:30pm. Workdays and hours may vary. Core hours are 8:45am-2:15pm. We are looking for an individual that has flexibility in their daily work schedule. Schedule will be negotiated upon hire.

This position is the first business contact at the Natural Resources Research Institute and is in the central lobby. This position is responsible to greet and direct visitors, callers, collaborators, employees, provide information, assist staff with clerical needs and monitor a secure building.
