This is a part-time position, working at least 20 hours per week. Schedule flexibility can include days, evenings, weekends or a combination, between the hours of 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

The Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise (CARE) program in St Peter has a rewarding career opportunity for a talented individual dedicated to helping people who struggle with chemical use and addiction reclaim their lives. As a Mental Health Professional you will be part of a team that provides inpatient treatment for adults with substance abuse disorders. Operated by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, CARE St. Peter specializes in providing treatment for co-occurring mental illness and chemical dependency. All services are person-centered, building on the individual's interests and capacity for growth, leading to a lifelong process of recovery. Primary Duties Include:

  • Providing psychological assessment services.
  • Providing clinical treatment services including Integrated Dual Disorders approaches through individual and group psychotherapy, family therapy and/or psychoeducation.
  • Acting as a consultant to the unit treatment team with responsibility for providing leadership in the treatment team process.
  • Providing expertise, training and ongoing support of clinical staff in the engagement and treatment if individuals with chronic mental illness and dually diagnosed MI/CD using Evidenced Based Practices.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must meet one of the following combinations of education, experience, and licensure:

Clinical Program Therapist 4

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related field; AND
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of Minnesota as an independent behavioral health professional (i.e. Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); AND
  • Have at least three (3) years of post-Master's degree experience providing clinical services including individual and group therapy.


  • Doctorate degree (PhD, PsyD, or DSW); AND
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of Minnesota as an independent mental health professional (i.e. Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Per MN statute, all candidates must:

  • Be at least 18 years old, AND
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check, AND
  • Sign a statement attesting that you have been free of chemical use problems for at least two years immediately preceding hire.
